Leo Ventura
Leo Cabrera Ventura, 80, of Pahala died Oct. 21, 2021, at the Ka‘u Hospital. He was born in Abulug, Cagayan, Philippines.

He is survived by sons, Nestor Ventura of Lihue, Kauai, Leo Ventura Jr. of California, and Eric Aglia Ventura of Reno, Nevada; daughter, Necie Bocalbos of Hanapepe, Kauai; sisters, Donata (Deacon Joseph) Aglia of Pahala, and Priscilla (Salvador) Delos Santos of Las Vegas; companion, Rosita Avenue of Pahala; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Yoshino Sumida
Yoshino “Doris” Sumida, 92, of Hilo, died Oct. 20, 2021, in the Medical Center. Born Oct. 1, 1929, in Mountain View, she was a housewife and member of the Hilo Coast United Church of Christ.
Private services held. The family requests flowers and koden (monetary offerings) be omitted.
She is survived by sons, Warren (Napua) Sumida of Hilo and Myles (Remi) Sumida of Keaau; daughter, Lori (Nelson) Kunihiro of Hilo; brother, Takeshi Shiroma of Hilo; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Robert Kinoshita
Robert Hiroshi Kinoshita, 100, of Hilo, died Oct. 15, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 10, 1921, in Honomu, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission Kyodan.
